Thankfully Thinking of You Thursday - Outdoor Barbecue Stamp Set (#151553)

Only a few more days to get my deal of the week!

Today’s purpose for making cards...

  If you need some ideas for who to send a "paper hug" to, think about those people in your life whose name starts or ends with the letter "G".

Technique...

I saw a card done by Melva Peters that gave me a layout idea for today's cards.  Let's put our spin on it and make the cards our own, using the Outdoor Barbecue Stamp Set!  #151553

The Cards...

Card 1

Yesterday, I used this Brick embossing folder and I wanted to use it again.  I LOVE how the bricks stand out and have so much texture when you wipe the stamp pad across the raised portions on the cardstock.  Also, on this card, I cut out the bottom portion of the barbecue and made it into a "grill" in the top corner, with the steak frying on it.  Lastly, I embossed the barbecue in silver embossing powder.  I then coloured over quite a few times with the dark black Stampin' Blend.  In the end, I coloured over the silver embossing to mute the shine a little.  I think this is going to become my brother's birthday card!

Card 2

I wanted to make a card for ketchup lovers!  I suppose this could work for a Valentine card or a Wedding card too!  Check out the brick pattern on this card.  I used the White Craft Ink to wipe over the brick to show the texture of the bricks.  This card is so adorable!
