Where are my animal lovers out there? Let's make some cute Christmas cards!

Let's play!

I'm so excited to showcase a very easy layout idea and some cute Christmas card ideas for animal lovers!

Here is the card that I made and used as a jumping off point for the other cards.

Cuteness overload!  Am I right?  This reminds me of the time my neices decided to make Bud (our dog) try on every outfit that he owned.  He sat there, unimpressed, while the girls treated him like a Barbie doll! lol

I added the Shimmery Crystal Effects to all the yellow light bulbs to add some shine and texture to the card.  Also, I added a strip of the "lightbulb" patterned paper to the card insert, to tie it all together.

For the second card, I changed up the colour combinations, based on the Designer Series Paper colours.

I added a little bit of pool party under the fish bowl using a blending brush.  I then cut out an additional fish bowl and popped it up with dimensionals, over top of the existing fish bowl.  To add a fun effect, I put the Shimmery Crystal Effects over top of the fish bowl to make it look like glass.

Once again, for the card insert, I added a strip of matching Designer Series paper and stamped the sentiment.

For the last card, I decided to use only the patterns from the Designer Series paper and add a few extras to make it pop!

I thought the Mountain Air Bundle worked so well with these colours and patterns.  So, if you aren't an animal lover, this patterned paper is still for you!

If I did this card again, I would use Adhesive Sheets on the backs of the trees to create stickers.  It would make them easier to glue onto the project.

For the sentiment, I stamped the words in Cherry Cobbler ink and then over top, I stamped the "tree" stamp from Mountain Air, in Old Olive, after I had stamped once on my scrap paper.  This allowed for variations of green, the neat leaf pattern and prevented the stark white sentiment layer.

I love how the card insert turned out.  Just by stamping full strength and stamping off once, using the two colours of ink, Old Olive and Evening Evergreen, the trees look dimensional.  The "Merry Christmas" sentiment went perfectly in Cherry Cobbler ink.  I might even do this design for the front of a Christmas card!

Which card was your favourite from today?

There are so many fun possibilities using this fun "Sweet Stockings" Designer Series Paper and the "Christmas to Remember" stamp set.

I love thow these sentiments lend themselves to go on the front of the card or on the card insert.  The font is larger and the writing mixed with the printing, makes this a great Christmas word set!
