Thankfully Thinking of You Thursday - To a Wild Rose Bundle #151073

Only a few more days to get my deal of the week!

Today’s purpose for making cards...
If you need some ideas for who to send a "paper hug" to, think about those people in your life whose name starts or ends with the letter "I".

Technique...
I saw a great layout idea from Dawn Griffith that I wanted to try.  I adjusted some measurements to make it my own.  Have a look and give it a try!

I also decided to "colour with paper".  I often am quick to grab the Stampin' Blends or other colouring tools and forget that I can use the patterned paper to add colour to stamped images!

The Measurements...
Card Base - 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, folded in half
Layer - 4 x 5 1/4
Strips - 3 pieces of 1 1/4 x 3
Cross Strip - 3/4 or 1 x 4
Card Insert 4 x 5 1/4

Today's Video...

The Cards...

Card 1
I stamped the flower image onto the Designer Series Paper and cut it out with the coordinating die.  A tip - when gluing the three strips of paper along the bottom of the card, make sure to glue to two outer layers first and then the middle layer.  That way they will be evenly spaced.

Card 2
For this card, I stamped the rose image 3 times.  I cut two of them out with the coordinating die.  I cut out the center portion of the third flower, with Paper Snips.  I layered them up, gluing them on top of each other to add some dimension.

Card 3
I cut out three flower shapes from some Designer Series Paper, using the coordinating die.  I didn't stamp on these shapes, like I had in the prior cards.  I took each piece of Designer Series Paper and crumpled it up.  I uncrumpled it and glued the three pieces together, one on top of the other.  For the center portion, I stamped, cut it out with the coordinating die and snipped all the way around the center piece to make it a little more ragged looking.

Card 4
Once again, I cut out three rose shapes using the coordinating die. On ONE of them, I stamped the flower insides.   I crumpled the paper to give it texture and glued them together, making sure the stamped flower was at the top.

I LOVE the dimension and colour of the roses,
when using the Designer Series Paper to colour with!
