Today’s purpose for making cards...
Firstly, it's Friday! I wanted to have fun creating some smaller cards to give away in gift bags. I also wanted to give a new technique a try, which was inspired by Amy Todd's cards that she shared with me last week! So neat!
Today we are going to learn the Watercolour Drip Technique. I love the streaks of colour that it creates. It's a random kind of technique, so you are never totally sure how things are going to turn out.

The Cards...
Card 1
I wanted to use colours that felt like spring to me. So, I used Rococo Rose, Pear Pizzazz and Balmy Blue. Check out the idea I used for the envelope flap of this card. This idea could be used on a card front!
Card 2
I wanted make a "unicorn coloured" card for my niece. The colours I used were Blushing Bride, Highland Heather (Purple Posy Ink Pad was just too light) and Seaside Spray. I also decided to put a mat behind the watercoloured portion and stamp the hearts onto the paper.
Card 3
For this card, I wanted to try to "drip" the paint in more than one direction. The colours I used for this card were Pacific Point, Granny Apple Green and Coastal Cabana. I also stamped the "Hello" onto the card base in a brick pattern.
Card 4
I was super excited to hear that the Painted Poppies and Peaceful Moments Bundles were back in stock! YAY! So, I decided to stamp the poppy image onto the front of the card with some brightly coloured drips. I used Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody and Melon Mambo. Someone reminded me yesterday about just tying knots in the ribbon, instead of worrying about a bow. I decided to do this with this card! I like it! Lastly, there is the cute little dotted stamp. I decided to add colour to the poppy images by using this dot stamp. It reminds me of the technique of "pointillism". Fun!
Card 5
For this card, I wanted to see how the drips would look over top of embossed portions. I embossed the white stars first and then went to town with adding Night of Navy and Pacific Point drips. Later on, I went in with my Aqua Painter and coloured in the white spots with Crushed Curry, to match the mat. I also splattered the Dark Night of Navy Stampin' Blend to add some spots, along with the Wink of Stella, to give some shine! I tried a new idea with the twine behind the saying. What do you think?
Who knew a drip of colour could look so good with the 3x3 cards and the Label Me Bold Stamp Set!
Thanks again Amy for the inspiration! I had a lot of fun trying out this technique!
