Thanks for all of your participation!
Here is the random colour combo that was chosen from the challenge on Saturday. The question was, "What colour is your toothbrush".
Colour Combo:
Thank You Martine Gagnon for your idea of Pacific Point and Poppy Parade!
I added a couple more colours to the mix.
Here is the video!
Card 1:
I had found this idea on Pinterest of using window sheets to sandwich the gears between. I gave it a try using this colour combo. I first added all five colours to a piece of Whisper White paper. I used daubers to apply "blobs" of colour. I then die cut two the gears from the coloured piece of paper. To make sure all the layers stay glued, I used Tear and Tape.
Measurements:
Card Base - 5 1/4 x 4 1/4, scored at 1 inch
Card Insert - Whisper White cardstock - 4 x 5 1/4
Window Sheets - 2 pieces at 3 7/8 x 5 1/2
Strip for inside - same colour as card base - 7/8 x 5 1/2
Card 2:
We had used this brick technique a couple of weeks back. I thought it would suit the gears. After embossing the brick pattern onto the black cardstock, I swiped the white craft ink over top to hit the raised bricks, to add some dimension. Also, I ran the gear die through on each of the five colours and one as a template to know where to glue the coloured gears down.
Measurements:
Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2
Card Insert - Whisper White cardstock - 4 x 5 1/4
Front Layer - 4 x 5 1/4
Card 3:
This card is very similar to the second card. The only difference is that while some of the gears were wet from having the ink rubbed on them, I dipped the gears into silver embossing powder. Only some portions of the gears got embossing powder on them. Also, I changed the sentiment to have "Thank You" instead of "Celebrate" by masking off celebrate before inking the stamp. In its place, I stamped the word Thank You.
Measurements:
Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2
Card Insert - Whisper White cardstock - 4 x 5 1/4
Front Layer - 4 x 5 1/4
These colours sure pop when combined with the black!
