Today’s purpose for making cards...

Let's try our hand at the cards that require the "extra mile" for those very special occasions.

Technique...

Today I am going to use the Dutch Fold to create these cards.  We are also going to focus mainly on the Cherry Blossom Dies that come with this bundle.  I will show you how you can arrange the flowers, layer and add a little dimension to the flower.

Today's Video...

Measurements:

Card Base - 8 x 7 1/8

• With the 8 inch side along the top of the trimmer, score at 2 and 6
• Turn the paper with the 7 1/8 side along the top of the trimmer and score at 2 3/8.  Flip the paper to the other side and score again at 2 3/8, LEAVING the middle portion, unscored.

Card Insert

• Mat - 3 3/4 x 4 1/2
• Whisper White - 3 5/8 x 4 3/8

Panels

• Mat - 1 3/4 x 2 1/8 (2 pieces)
• DSP - 1 5/8 x 2 (2 pieces)

Flap

• Mat - 2 1/8 x 3 3/4
• DSP - 2 x 3 5/8

Main Portion on the Front of the Card - can be any shape, or cut to the following

• Mat - 2 3/4 x 2 3/4
• Whisper White - 2 5/8 x 2 5/8

The Cards...

Card 1

For this card, I decided to just put the flowers around the stamped sentiment.  I found the sentiment got lost and so I re-stamped the sentiment onto the Whisper White oval and popped it up over top of the flowers.

Card 2

For this card, I layered flowers on top of each other to give the flower a little more dimension.

Card 3

For this card, I pressed into the center of each flower with the Take Your Pick Tool to make the flower petals curl inward.  I then used the liquid glue to layer flowers on top of each other.  Love the dimensional effect this made!
