Let's try out some new colour combos to use with this bundle!

Technique...

Today's colouring tool is WATERCOLOR PENCILS.  To be honest, I often forget about the watercolour pencils and often grab for the Stampin' Blends to colour with.  One of the fun reasons to use watercolour pencils, is to colour onto dark coloured cardstock.

The Cards...

Card 1

Talk about a "rich looking" card!  I embossed with gold embossing powder onto the black card base, as well as the full flower image onto the white cardstock.  Watch the video to see how I did the layered look.  When colouring with the watercolour pencils, try not to touch the gold embossing too much as it causes it to become dull.  

Today's surprise colour combo:  Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Basic Black and Old Olive

Card 2

I wanted to make a card with a rustic feel to it.  I embossed the daisies in white and coloured them in with the watercolour pencil crayons.  The one daisy, I stamped on a scrap piece of cardstock, cut it out and curled some of the petals to make it look a little more dimensional.  To make the edges look rough, I ran my Paper Snips along the side, scraping at the paper.  I then went back with Crumb Cake ink and a dauber, to make the paper look a little more antique looking.

Card 3

One of the great features of watercolour pencils is that you can colour onto dark cardstock and they still show colour.  This is an example with Call Me Clover green.  I have done this technique with even black cardstock!

** If you LOVE the colour CALL ME CLOVER, you need to get it now.  It will be retiring at the end of May!  Get the paper, the ink pad and the re-inker so you can enjoy it for a long time to come!
